Police are appealing for information about a crash in Frodsham in which five people sustained injuries.
A red Nissan Micra and a blue Volkswagen Polo were involved in the collision on Manley Road between the Commonside and New Pale Road junctions at around 4.20pm on Wednesday (December 16).
The Polo's 22-year-old driver and 16-year-old passenger were both taken to Aintree Hospital, where the teenager is described as in a critical condition.
A 72-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Micra was taken to the Royal Liverpool Hospital with serious injuries.
The 70-year-old male driver of the Micra and a second passenger, an 11-year-old girl, were taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital with minor injuries.
Five ambulances and two rapid response vehicles attended the scene.
Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire police on 101 quoting incident number 636 of December 16.
