Police are appealing for information following an attempted robbery on a 22-year-old woman in Winsford on Saturday (November 15).
The incident took place by an alleyway running between Esk Road and Crook Lane at around 4.45pm as the woman was walking home from work.
While walking down the alley, she heard a man′s voice and was approached from behind by two men.
The pair knocked her to the ground and punched her in the chest while trying to take her handbag. They ran away empty-handed after being startled by the sound of a nearby door closing.
The victim sustained minor injuries and did not have to attend hospital.
One man was approximately 5′10" tall, slim and had short brown hair. He was riding a BMX bike and wearing a black, hooded top.
The other man was on foot and was around 5′10" tall, slim and wearing dark clothing.
DC Matt Hull, said: "This incident has been a terrifying ordeal for the victim and while she was able to keep her handbag, it has left her very shook up.
"We are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything at the time to get in touch so we can bring the men who did this to justice."
Police are now appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen anything which could help locate the men.
