Cheshire Oaks bosses have promised to investigate after a car park nightmare that left shoppers stuck for up to three hours.

Drivers were left stuck in congestion at the retail park on Saturday afternoon (November 12) after an exit slip road was closed on Cheshire Oaks Way, close to the Ellesmere Port shopping park.

It left shoppers furious with many taking to social media to vent their frustration.

One said: "We have been stuck @CheshireOaks now for over 2 hours! Are we ever getting home?"

Another tweeted: "Seriously Cheshire Oaks, can you get some stewards in the multi story to try and help with traffic I'm approaching 3 hours now, 3ft moved."

Twitter user Ffion Griffiths said: "Don't ever want to go to Cheshire Oaks again, 3 hour wait to leave the car park."

Meanwhile @FawcetMandi said she was 'fuming' at what she claimed was a similar wait at the multi-storey car park.

Anthony Scurfield had a wait of two hours, and felt he had a simple solution...

Cheshire Oaks bosses have now apologised and promised to take action...

And people living nearby promised to take action

Cheshire Oaks itself has a number of car parks, while large numbers of people also park at the Coliseum Shopping Park and the nearby Sainsbury's store.
