Music, nostalgia and beautiful cars – there’s something for everyone at this year’s Car Fest North, which roars into Oulton Park later this month.

The fun-filled family weekend on July 31-August 2 will be hosted once again by new Top Gear presenter Chris Evans, and promises a feast of fabulous cars, star performances and fine food to smoke tyres in the name of charity.

Musical performances from Will Young, Billy Ocean and The Boomtown Rats will provide a backdrop to the Ferraris, Aston Martins and Jaguars that will be among those taking to Tarporley’s Oulton Park track to raise money for BBC Children in Need.

And after the Magnificent Sevens of previous years, this summer the line-up of cars will count down from 12 to F1 under a variety of headings.

The Dirty Dozen features 12 eye-catchers from Evans’s own collection of Ferraris, Astons, Mercs and Jags, and this will be followed by the Sporting Bear Eleven, the Race Car Ten, Iconic Nine, Hot Rod Eight, Supercar Seven, Rally Six, Furious Five, Fun Four, Dragster Three, Dynamic Duo and Formula One.

Music-wise you’ll be spoilt for choice with Scouting for Girls, Joss Stone, Seasick Steve, Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott from The Beautiful South, Level 42, The Christians, Texas and Rebecca Ferguson all performing.

Various record-breaking attempts are also on the bill at Car Fest North.

The event was the inspiration of DJ Evans in 2012.

It initially a one-off in Hampshire, the event was so popular Evans created a second in the North West.

A minimum of 25% of all ticket income goes directly to the Car Fest charity and has already raised more than £3.5m for Children in Need.

There will be F1 cars from Lotus, McLaren, Arrows and Benetton; as well as a 1932 Ford Deuce Coupe and a 1968 VW Split Screen camper.

  • The Saturday and Sunday at CarFest North are sold out but there are tickets left for Friday (July 31). Tickets cost £60 for an adult and £11 for those aged six-16. Visit www.carfest.org.
