A DUCK race on the River Dee raised more than £1,000 for charity.

The sun shone as hundreds turned out to see the Chester branch of Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research hold their annual charity race on the Dee last week.

£1,300 was raised for the charity, which saw hundreds of plastic ducks released on the water.

Children and families had fun taking part in activities that included face-painting, tombola and hook-a-duck.

Peter Hobson, secretary of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research’s Chester branch said he was pleased with the turnout.

“We would like to convey our thanks to all those who came down to join us on the day and offer their help,” he added.
