RESIDENTS have complained about three separate, serious water leaks in Ellesmere Port.

United Utilities has been asked by county councillor Derek Bateman to attend to a substantial leakage in Croft Court, Stanney.

And the Pioneer has been told of two other bursts in the town which have been leaking for weeks.

Resident Kevin Ewin took pictures of the leak in Croft Court, which has been going for at least 10 days.

He said: 'It's coming out of the drain in front of our house and oozing on to the main road. It's running across the car park of the Gunners pub. But, despite requests from us, United Utilities has done nothing about it so far.'

Meanwhile, residents have told the Pioneer about two other substantial leaks in the town.

One is at the junction of McGarva Way and Grange Road, near the mini roundabout. And a resident said another leak, this time in Parkfield Drive, Whitby, has been running for more than a week.

She said: 'This is just wasting water, especially when United Utilities wants us to conserve water ourselves.'

A spokesman for United Utilities said: 'We were told about the leaks at Croft Court and Parkfield Drive and are very grateful to the members of the public who contacted us.

'We will investigate to see if there is a problem at McGarva Way.'
