The Chester and Wrexham and North Wales groups of Amnesty International are jointly hosting the Amnesty North West conference in Chester in November.
The focus of the conference, on Saturday, November 8 at Queen’s Park High School, is Amnesty’s Campaign against Torture.
There will be personal accounts from human rights defenders, presentations from coordinators of the countries featured in the campaign, workshops on how to work more effectively for Amnesty and a street action.
Anyone wishing to attend should contact email: firstname.lastname@example.org, or telephone 07800745682. Places cost £10 each or £5 for unwaged.
Both groups have also helped organise a series of films at Clwyd Theatr Cymru in Mold with the theme: Human Rights-Human Dilemmas during October and November.
There will be introductions, discussions led by Amnesty members and the films include Dead Man Walking, Wadjda, Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer and 5 Broken Cameras.
