A man has been arrested following an alleged racist outburst in Chester.

At around 1.35am yesterday (Thursday) police were called to Chester Railway Station following reports of a disturbance.

When they arrived they arrested a 29-year-old man from South Shields in connection with the incident.

David Martin, of Harlington Terrace, South Shields has been charged with a racially aggravated public order.

He has been bailed and is due to appear before Chester Magistrates on October 30.
