Two casualties were taken to hospital yesterday (Sunday, September 25) following a two-vehicle smash in Northwich .

The crash occurred on Fishpool Road, Delamere , at around 12.30pm yesterday.

Three fire engines were called to the scene who released one of the casualties who was trapped in one of the vehicles.

One of the casualties was airlifted to the Royal Stoke University Hospital and another was taken by an emergency ambulance to Macclesfield District General Hospital.

A third person was also involved in the accident who was treated by the ambulance service.

A North West Ambulance Service spokesman said no details with regards to the injuries are currently available.

“An air ambulance, an emergency ambulance and a rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene,” the spokesman said.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service posted on their website: “Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision involving two vehicles where one casualty had become trapped.

“Crews released the trapped casualty from the vehicle and handed them into the care of the ambulance.

"A further two casualties were treated by the ambulance service.”
