ENERGETIC youngsters enjoyed traditional games in the sun at a school sports day.

Children at Acresfield Primary School’s sports day could be seen running around balancing quoits on their heads, bouncing about in a sack race and treading carefully in an egg and spoon race.

Mike Dixon, headteacher at the school in Acres Lane, Upton Heath, Chester, said: “The school has been involved in a special fitness and fun week.

“All of the children have taken part in a range of activities to promote the importance of keeping healthy. This has included cheerleading, dodge ball, dancing and lots of other sport.

“It has been a real success and the children have loved it, while learning an important message at the same time.”
