Dignitaries in Saltney travelled to switch on the town’s lights in style.

Mayor of Saltney Alan Evans and other councillors were all aboard a vintage open topped bus on the High Street, led by the Cambria Band and Saltney Ferry Scouts.

Deeside Round Table led Santa and his sleigh from the other end of the street, joined by pupils from Wood Memorial and St Anthony’s primary schools before the groups met at the Saltney Tavern for music and refreshments.

Cllr Evans said: “A huge thank you to the people of Saltney. It was absolutely fantastic and I was gobsmacked by the amount of people who turned out. The kids and adults really enjoyed it and the amount of people there commenting on how good it was - I was over the moon!”
