ABBEY Gate College students looked back in time for inspiration to rename their school houses.
The houses, Hastings, Marmion, and Ripley, are named after 13th century abbotts.
The college’s home, Saighton Grange, dates back to the 1200s and was home to the Abbott of the Monastery in Chester.Š Š
The houses form the basis for most of the competitions held throughout the year including sports competitions and the House Quiz, which was recently won by Hastings house.
The houses also combine to raise funds for a charity each year and are currently working hard to raise £20.000 for Save the Family to help build a house at their new site at Cotton Edmunds.Š
