THE futillity of war was expressed through music and drama at Abbey Gate College in Saighton.
A cast of 35 actors and musicians from Year 7-13 performed Joan Littlewood's satirical musical Oh What a Lovely War. This highly acclaimed chronicle of the horrors of the First World War was told through songs, dances and photography in the form of music-hall seaside entertainment.
Historical documents of the period were used to create entertaining but hard-hitting dramatic sketches.
The production was directed by drama teacher Laura Haskey and Stewart Smith was musical director.
The production played to a full theatre for four nights.
