IT WAS As and A* all round at King’s School with a third of GCSE pupils getting straight A or A* grades.

Oscar Haywood of Caerwys achieved 10 A* grades, Caitlin Deering and Jack Webb of Chester and James Carr of Harwarden gained nine A*s.

There was a 98% A*/A pass rate for those 43 pupils who were studying maths and overall 99.9% of the GCSE passes were at grade A-C and 72% at A or A*.

Headteacher Chris Ramsey said: “We are delighted with a great set of GCSE results which are even better than last year. My congratulations go to all our students.”

Students who achieved nine A or A* are Inigo Atkin, Daniel Axelsson, Jason Brewer, George Cook, Glen Copack, Fred Deas, Mark Ditchfield, Eleanor Gibson, Charlotte Gillies, Alex Gorman, Isobel Hughes, Zack Hulme, Matthew Ireland, Matthew Kilcoyne, Mayur Lakshmi, Sam Lewis, William Moreland, Thomas Pearson-Jones, Francesca Quinn Thomas, Srinath Ranjit, Matthew Robinson, Jonathan Rodger, Marcus Torr and Ciaran Willis.
