The Chronicle this week publishes 50 great offers so that readers can save money while defending local jobs and businesses.
With the help of Chester's city centre management team we challenged local businesses to offer discounts and money saving deals to boost the local economy.
And their response to our Go Local campaign has been terrific – with great ways to save cash and pick up bargains.
But we don't want to stop at 50 businesses or limit the campaign to Chester. Go Local also means supporting your shops and businesses in your village or town … for example in Frodsham, Helsby, Malpas, Tarporley, Neston, Tattenhall or Tarvin.
Chronicle editor-in-chief, Eric Langton, said: "We don’t have to tell people that times are tough. But if shops, services and restaurants get behind the Go Local campaign by making it better and cheaper to stay local I am sure our readers will support them.
"The Free after 3 car parking introduced by the city council last year has definitely helped Chester businesses and I am sure the new local authority will be looking at other ways to help.
"Anything that makes it easier, cheaper and more pleasant for people to stay local will help get us all through the recession."

Basil Lewis, 90, of Upton: “I think Chester is a good place to live. I’ve lived here all my life but I think we could do with a theatre, cinema or maybe even a ballroom because there’s not enough to do.”
Liz Dunmell, Hoole said: “I think the whole place needs a little bit of TLC. It used to be a special city but now me and my friends all agree it’s looking a bit run down. People should take more care over it.”
Paul Ives, 49, Saughall, said: “One thing I would change straight away is the £5 parking fee. I think Chester would also be improved if they had a wider variety of shops. There are too many clothes shops.”
Alison Thompson, 27, of Dodleston, said: “I think the river front could be improved. It’s really pretty down there and I don’t think we are making the most of it. It needs a few more bars so people can go and have a nice, relaxed drink.”
