VALE Royal Borough Council has prosecuted Russell Mark Furey, of Saltney, at Vale Royal Magistrates Court.
Furey was fined £1,500 and ordered to pay costs of £1,272 for failing to remove an accumulation of waste at 61 Keepers Lane, Weaverham, Northwich, in an appropriate manner.
Furey was prosecuted under the Environmental Protection Act (1990) following several complaints from neighbours and attempts by the council's environmental protection department to get the waste removed in a safe and suitable fashion.
Furey finally tried to dispose of the rubbish by burning it, which caused a smoke hazard and foul smells in the neighbourhood.
