THUGS who pushed a 12-year-old boy to the ground before making off with his mobile phone, are being sought by police.

An investigation has been launched into the attack which happened at about 4.55pm on Sunday (March 17) when the victim was walking along the footpath between Chester Road and Lucerne Close in Huntington, playing a game on his mobile phone.

As he became aware of two youths walking towards him, one of them pushed him to the floor and stole his phone before the two youths fled in the direction of Lucerne Close.

The boy was not injured as a result of the incident but was shaken.

The first offender is described as white, aged between 15 and 16 years old and between 5'7" and 5'8" tall.

He was wearing a dark hooded top with the hood up, dark coloured tracksuit bottoms and dark coloured gloves.

The second youth is described as being Asian in appearance, between 15 and 16 years old and between 5'8" and 5'9" tall.

He had black hair and was wearing a grey fleece and blue jeans.

PC Mel Graham of Chester Outer Neighbourhood Policing Unit said:

“Incidents such as this are rare in Huntington and we are doing all we can to trace the offenders responsible.

“We ask that anyone with any information contact Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 942 of 17 March 2013.

“Information can also be left anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111."
