POLICE are trying to trace a driver who hit an 11-year-old girl cyclist.

They want to identify the woman involved in the collision in Blacon on Friday between 5-6pm last Friday.

The girl was cycling along Blacon Point Road in Blacon when she was struck by a red car.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene to check on the welfare of the child but then left without leaving her details.

Although the girl made a full recovery and was not seriously injured, police are keen to establish the identity of the driver and are appealing for her to contact PC McLellan at Chester Traffic Unit on 0845 458 0000 quoting incident 874 24.06.11.

Police are looking at CCTV in the local area and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
