MUM of two Lorraine Evans, has been named as the friendliest salesperson in Chester’s Forum Shopping Centre in the Northgate retail development’s Summer Search for a Star competition.
The Somerfield Supermarket’s customer services trading manager, who has worked for the company for 14 years, was nominated for the award by regular customer Marc Armstrong who said she showed ‘a genuine interest’ in her customers.
The nomination from Mr Armstrong, who works for a publishing company situated near to the Forum, said Lorraine often used the word ‘love’ with sincerity and had a smile for her customers every day.
He was one of scores of customers at the Northgate centre who filled in nomination forms in the search for the Forum’s star. More than a dozen individuals received nominations but Lorraine was chosen as the centre’s friendliest salesperson by an independent adjudication panel.
‘I’m delighted to receive this accolade,’ said Lorraine from Dunham Hill, Helsby when presented with her prize of £100 worth of Forum vouchers by centre manager Lawrence Allen. ‘I try to be friendly with everybody who comes into the store and it’s nice to know that the customers appreciate me.”
Mr Armstrong, who lives in Chester, also received vouchers to the value of £100 for choosing the winning Forum salesperson. He said: ‘I pop into Somerfield most evenings on my way home and I’ve always been impressed by Lorraine’s truly caring nature.’
Somerfield store manager Ernie Reddish said: ‘I’m very pleased for Lorraine’s success. She is a valuable member of my team.’
