ENTERPRISING students at a Saltney school have been learning about business at Broughton Shopping Park.

Year 9 pupils of St David’s High School took part in the Young Dragons initiative, which aims to teach youngsters new skills and build up their self-confidence.

Students took part in a three-day young managers’ course and will test their skills later in the year when they will complete a teamwork challenge.

Each team member will be given £5 and attempt to use the skills learned to set up and run a business.

The challenge will finish in October during Flintshire Business Week, and there will be an awards ceremony during Global Enterprise Week in November.

Pupils of Argoed High School in Mynydd Isa and Flint’s St Richard Gwyn Catholic High School will also take part in the initiative.

Broughton councillor Billy Mullin said: “I applaud Broughton Shopping Park for creating this worthwhile community initiative to get the very best from our young people.”
