A CHESTER solicitor has spoken about the challenges facing eco technology at a national event on green energy.

Richard Williams chaired a group of experts at the Hydro Panel, part of the Energy Now Expo 2013, at the Telford International Centre, Shropshire.

Mr Williams, a partner at Walker Smith Way, is a specialist in agricultural law and renewables and is a Fellow of the Agricultural Law Association.

He said: “I am honoured to be invited to chair such a panel of experts which includes some of the foremost authorities in hydropower technology and the environment.

“We will be looking into some of the burning issues of today including the challenges facing the hydropower sector and protecting the environment.”

Richard acts for estate and farming clients nationwide. He is also an acknowledged expert in renewables, where his own hydroelectric and wind turbine schemes give him a unique perspective in guiding landowners and developers through the legal minefield.

His experience in agricultural law is complemented by involvement with the Country Land and Business Association, where he sits on the national taxation committee and the Welsh committee.
