PLUS Dane Group is pressing ahead with new developments in Ellesmere Port after having its contract to deliver the Government’s affordable home ownership scheme extended to 2013.

The housing association and government home buy agent estimates the new deal could be worth more than £1.5m to the group.

The scheme is also likely to help safeguard jobs in the construction industry.

Plus Dane has recently completed two developments in Ellesmere Port, both of which were aimed at people who would otherwise struggle to get a foot on the property ladder.

The group held an extremely successful first-time buyers show in Ellesmere Port last year, explaining to local people the help available for first time buyers in the town.

Welcoming the news, HomesHub director Ben Clay said: “One of Plus Dane’s key missions is to increase the supply and choice of homes to suit a broad spectrum of lifestyles.

“For communities to thrive, there needs to be a good mix of housing options, with help for people who aspire to own a home, so I am proud of the work we have done recently in Rossfield Park and Great Hall Park and look forward to new phases of development in the town.”

HomesHub, which acts as a customer portal for all Government-assisted first time buyer options in Merseyside and Cheshire, is due to begin work on delivering FirstBuy, the latest Government initiative to stimulate the housing market.

Using cash from the banking levy, FirstBuy will assist 10,000 people nationally purchase a new property.
