A HOTEL in a converted school house will be given a third lease of life as a house.
A partly retrospective application by Steve Hughes was granted for The Old School House Hotel, Berwick Road, Little Sutton.
Mr Hughes won approval from Cheshire West and Chester Council for the change of use, including alterations to a car port to create a living space with patio doors and windows at the back.
The building is on the corner of Berwick Road and Chester Road, fronting Chester Road and pedestrian and vehicle access is from Berwick Road.
The application resulted from an enforcement investigation and had no objections.
Planners said the proposed dwelling would make a small but useful contribution to the shortfall of housing across the borough.
A home would create less comings and goings than a six-bedroom hotel so highway safety and the residential amenity of neighbours would be comparably better.
The application was recommended for approval and the council agreed that Mr Hughes could have permission.
