Danish global furnishing business JYSK has opened a new store in Ellesmere Port, creating 10 jobs.

The new shop, on Westminster Retail Park, is part of the group’s ongoing UK expansion.

JYSK stores offer a range of goods, from garden furniture, to beds, mattresses, duvets, sofas, dining table sets, houseware and home textiles.

Matt Bellamy, from Wallasey, has been appointed store manager.

Mr Bellamy, 40, previously worked for webuyanycar.com, but has spent significant time working with Asda, KFC, gaming retailer GAME and Danish-owned store group Netto.

The store’s opening day, which was launched by Mayor of Ellesmere Port Lynn Clare, saw the first 50 customers receive a 20% discount on their purchases and a number of special offers.
