The four star DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Spa Chester is under new ownership, having been acquired by Marathon Asset Management from Sanguine Hospitality for an undisclosed sum.

The 140-bedroom hotel will be managed by Valor Hospitality Europe, a newly formed management company which is an extension of Valor Hospitality Partners. Valor Hospitality Partners is an Atlanta-based full service hotel management company which works with all the major brands.

Brian McCarthy, Managing Director of Valor Hospitality Europe said: “This is an exciting time for the group and we are really looking forward to working with Hilton and developing the hotel.”

Marathon’s UK portfolio is made up of Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza and Best Western branded hotels following the acquisition of QMH UK Limited in 2014 and this new purchase will see them working with Hilton for the first time.

The historic hotel is set in 12 acres of landscaped gardens on the outskirts of Chester which comprises of Hoole Hall Club and Spa, extensive conference and function facilities and restaurants and bars including the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill.
