A WOMAN from Childer Thornton who has raised £12,000 in memory of her sister-in-law who succumbed to breast cancer has joined a women in business network.

Suzy Young from Childer Thornton made it her mission to raise as much money as possible after her sister-in-law Lila Young died last August.

In a bid to get her fundraising message to as many people as she can, working mum Suzy has joined forces with Network She, a network exclusively for women who mean business.

Network She – which will launch in Liverpool on Thursday – has been creating platforms and opportunities for women to develop themselves and their businesses since September 2007.

Its founder, Ruth Lloyd-Williams, said: “We were blown away with Suzy’s ‘go get, can do’ attitude.

“To have raised so much money, more than £12,000, in such a short time is testimony to just how strong a character she is and we are thrilled to support Suzy and the Lila Young Foundation Fund at our launch event at Il Palazzo on Thursday, April 19.

“We have over 80 local business women registered to attend the event. They will be in good company, mixing business and pleasure thanks to the generous support from Yses, Hotel Indigo, Tracey Bell, 2Love my lips, Lash out Lashes, Lip Couture and Wedding Jam.”

Tickets for the event are free with prize raffles and donations in aid of the Lila Young Foundation Fund.

Ms Lloyd-Williams added: “To be able to help Suzy raise much-needed funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer in memory of Lila Young will be a huge honour and a great motivator to make sure the Network She launch is a huge success.”
