A NEW business is to provide Chester with its first online bicycle shop – www.fredstreads.com.

As a local enterprise Fred’s Treads will be providing Chester residents with free delivery on a full range of brand named BMXs, fold-up bikes, mountain bikes and road bikes.

Fred Beyeler, aged 42, from Mickle Trafford, has been selling cycles and cycle accessories through Ebay, the online auction website, for around three years.

Having been subject to the commission charges imposed by Ebay, Fred took the decision to strike out on his own.

He said: “Ebay charges are a cost that I’ve had to pass on to customers. Setting up on my own will allow me to eliminate this overhead and pass the savings on to customers.”

Fred earmarks cycle safety as one of his key concerns, and Fred’s Treads will sell the high visibility “sweetskinz” tyres and dyno powered “pedalite” pedals.

On the benefits of cycling, Fred said: “Cycling is a great way to get fitter, save money and enjoy the local surroundings.”
