A PUBLIC relations firm is launching a new maritime marketing package after doubling its sales to the sector in the last 12 months.

Polaris Media, based at Pioneer House in Ellesmere Port, is seeing increased demand from maritime firms in the UK and Europe, and it is keen to market itself with greater impact.

Polaris has recently added £7m turnover to marine product supplier International Safety Products, which manufactures Liverpool life jackets, and £2.5m to Birkenhead-based IPS Marine Fabrications.

It joins Polaris’s established clients operating in the maritime sector, including Cammell Laird, Mersey Maritime, Roxtec, Engenda and SeaKing Electrical.

Director Ben Pinnington, who set up the firm with brother Sam, said the new marine package includes national and international news media campaigns, internet profile raising, social media and website development, brand development and marketing literature.

He said: “Firms operating in the marine sector are highly newsworthy and are tailor-made for marketing. However, many do not do themselves justice and are not harnessing their marketing potential which holds back growth.

“Having a robust media profile to support sales campaigns is essential and firms can benefit enormously from growing understanding of who they are and what they do in the regional and national media.”
