A CHESTER nursery linked up with one of its neighbours when it decided to introduce an employee of the month reward scheme.
The Spinney Day Nurseries in Hoole and Pulford believes in staff training, development and retention. Owners Alison and John Thomson put a lot of time and effort in to looking after their team and have a National Employer of the Year award on the mantelpiece to prove it.
When it came to introducing an employee of the month reward scheme, Alison and John looked over the garden fence to their Hoole neighbour, The Club and Spa at Hoole Hall.
The two Chester businesses, both based off Warrington Road, have linked-up to reward exceptional performance by individual nursery staff. Every month an outstanding member of the nursery team will be awarded with an indulgent spa package from The Club and Spa’s treatment menu.
Alison, director of Spinney Day Nursery Ltd, says: “Recognising staff performance through a reward is a simple but important way of boosting motivation and engagement. It’s that little something extra which is appreciated and can reap rewards in terms of loyalty, staff retention and productivity.
“It is so important to the children and parents that they know our team members are here to stay. Outstanding, experienced, trusted and motivated staff are the foundation for achieving the highest standards of childcare.”
Club and Spa manager Paul Kelsall says: “We’re delighted to have linked-up with our close neighbours at The Spinney Day Nursery and would be happy to partner any other successful Chester business looking to reward staff performance.”
