Chester business Sykes Cottages has reached the milestone of 7,000 holiday properties across the UK and Ireland.

It’s a record-breaking achievement for the company, whose head office is based on Lower Bridge Street. Starting life as a family business run from the kitchen table, Sykes has now grown into the UK’s biggest and fastest growing independent cottage rental agency with more than 250 people employed at the Chester office.

Miles Hill, chief executive officer at Sykes Cottages, said: “We’re delighted to have hit this milestone and welcomed our 7,000th property this week. We’ve brought on board over 1,000 holiday rentals in the past 12 months alone, going from strength to strength, including many in new areas where we’ve not previously had properties.

“This is the icing on top of the cake after a record-breaking year- congratulations to everyone involved.”

Sykes staff celebrated this great achievement in style with a champagne breakfast.
