A YOUNG Chester chef is toasting success after winning a prestigious catering award.

Daniel Beech, chef de partie at Simon Radley at The Chester Grosvenor, was named a Craft Guild of chefs graduate during a lavish awards ceremony in London last Tuesday.

The 19-year-old culinary creator, a former pupil at Bishop Heber High School, scored an impressive 85% in the previous Thursday’s grand cooking final.

Vice-president of the Craft Guild of chefs and awards organiser Steve Munkley praised all the new graduates and their fantastic achievements, saying: “The final was certainly a reflection of the all the hard work and effort that these young chefs have put in.

“The Graduate Awards say yes, I’m making great strides up the career ladder.

“These young chefs have now been verified by the best chefs in the industry and what a cracking endorsement that is to have on your CV.”
