Five apprentices from Chester have been shortlisted for an EEF/Aldermore Future Manufacturing Awards.
The apprentices are all in the running for an outstanding apprentice award, sponsored by JAM Recruitment.
The shortlisted apprentices are: Daniel Quinn from Penymynydd, aged 20, second year apprentice at Airbus Operations, Paul Jones from Blacon, second year apprentice at Airbus Operations, Peter Webster from Chester, aged 30, second year apprentice at Airbus Operations, Sion Lloyd from Dodleston, aged 21, third year apprentice at JCB and Rhys Vincent from Saltney Ferry, fourth year apprentice at Airbus Operations.
They were selected along with 18 other apprentices from the region after impressing judges with their dedication and determination to pursue a career in manufacturing.
The apprentices will find out if they have won the regional title at a ceremony at in Flintshire on November 6. If successful, they will then go on to compete with other regional winners from across the UK for the national title. This will be announced at an awards gala dinner in London in February next year.
Sion Lloyd, a third year apprentice from JCB, said: “I am really pleased to be shortlisted for this award – I’ve met lots of great apprentices who are dedicated, hard-working and inspirational, so I’m really honoured to have made it through this far.”
