THE deadline for entries for the Trinity Mirror Cheshire Business Awards, sponsored by SAS Daniels and Click Consult, is approaching fast.
But there is still time for businesses from across the region to nominate themselves, or another business they know well, for an award.
The awards are open to all businesses whatever the size of trade. A full list of categories and criteria is in the panel on this page.
There are 10 categories to choose from and this week the spotlight is on the final three categories: Click Consult Business Person of the Year, Large Business of the Year and the Employer of the Year award.
CLICK CONSULT BUSINESS PERSON OF THE YEAR
This award recognises the business men and women who stand out from the crowd and inspire those around them. The judges will select one winner who has a proven track record and is instrumental to the success of their business, shows outstanding leadership and someone who is commended within the business community.
Matt Bullas, managing director of sponsors of this award and executive sponsors Click Consult, said: “The Cheshire Business Awards are highly respected amongst the Cheshire business community and beyond, and to have the opportunity to sponsor an award as prestigious as Business Person of the Year is fantastic for Click Consult.
“I was fortunate enough to be named as Young Business Person of the Year at the 2011 event, and I felt it was important that our organisation was associated with an award that celebrates the inspirational achievements of other business people within our region.
“As the sponsor of the Business Person of the Year award, I'll also play a part in choosing the winner. We'll be looking for someone whose outstanding leadership, entrepreneurial ability and motivational skills set them apart from the crowd.
“There are many business people in Cheshire currently performing commendable work in a difficult economic backdrop, and it's very important that their successes are recognised and celebrated by others in the regional business community.”
LARGE BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
THIS award is for companies employing a workforce of more than 50 which are able to demonstrate all-round business excellence, financial performance, business strategy and sound future plans.
EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR
We are looking for the employers who can best demonstrate how their leadership and human resource policies support staff development, engagement and satisfaction creating a positive and supportive workplace with a well motivated and well trained team. The winner of this award will be more than just a good company to work for, their culture will deliver commercial results and they will be an inspiration to other businesses.
