HIGH Flying internet mogul Simon Nixon headed a distinguished cast of award winning entrepreneurs who gathered at the Queen Hotel Chester to be honoured at the sixth Trinity Mirror Cheshire Business Awards.

HIGH Flying internet mogul Simon Nixon headed a distinguished cast of award winning entrepreneurs who gathered at the Queen Hotel Chester to be honoured at the sixth Trinity Mirror Cheshire Business Awards.

Mr Nixon who founded price comparison website moneysupermarket.com and more recently holiday and property websites simonseeks.com and simonescapes.com was hailed a local hero as he picked up Business Person of The Year sponsored by Bank of America.

ITN and Granada presenter Lucy Meacock who hosted the glittering awards ceremony told Mr Nixon "Chester is so proud of you."

The elite of public and private sector assembled together to applaud business champions from across our communities.

Lucy Meacock also paid a special tribute to the sponsors of the awards evening Royal Mail, Cheshire & Warrington Economic Alliance, Sellafield Ltd, Cheshire West and Chester Council, ScottishPower and Bank of America.
