A RENOVATION of guest rooms at Inglewood Manor Hotel, Ledsham, has added to a donations boom for the St Vincent de Paul charity furniture shop in Ellesmere Port.

The refurbishment of rooms meant a variety of bedroom furniture, most in good condition, was available for donation to the charity, which provides help for the needy and volunteers joined staff in collecting usable pieces from the hotel last week.

Inglewood general manager Fiona Creed helped her staff and SVP charity volunteers identify unwanted furniture, from bedside tables to paintings, and carry them out of the hotel.

“We were delighted to help a wonderful charity like to St Vincent de Paul Society,” said Fiona. “The furniture is in good condition.”

Sue Lavender, of the St Vincent’s charity shop in Ellesmere Port, said: “These donations are very useful because we can either sell the pieces from our stores to raise money to fund our work or give them away to those in need.

“At the moment there is great demand for secondhand furniture and our feet haven’t touched the ground since mid-December.”
