Former boyband member Ritchie Neville and Big Brother 6 winner Anthony Hutton were special guests at the official opening of a new concept barber shop in Hoole .

Business partners Paul ‘G’ Geddes and Ryan Ephraim marked the launch of GHQ with an all day party at the new salon on Charles Street, which was attended by Big Reunion star Ritchie and loveable Geordie Anthony.

The barber and grooming salon, features a tattoo room, plush cushioned leather seating, a craft beer fridge, selection of fine whiskeys and striking contemporary artwork, as well as vintage restored Belmont barber chairs emblazoned with the GHQ logo.

Ryan, from Flintshire, who has been a hairdresser in Chester for more than 20 years, said: “Men’s grooming has changed beyond recognition in the past couple of years, especially with the rise in popularity of beards and the ‘hipster’ look.

“We knew it was the right time to present a new type of barbers to Chester and so GHQ was born.”

And former solider and bodyguard G left the Army five years ago after serving his country for 25 years, and retrained with the Total Barber Academy in London to pursue his passion to become a barber.

He said: “We have a saying above the door ‘Every man an Emperor’ which is how we want the men visiting GHQ to feel every time they visit us. It’s a place we want our customers to come and hang out, share a drink, watch a movie and of course get a great hair cut.”

GHQ is open six days a week, from 9.30am to 6pm Monday – Saturday and late nights Thursday and Friday.
