A STORE enabling people to buy and sell their unwanted goods has opened in Ellesmere Port, creating five jobs.

Cash Converters, a pre-owned goods and financial services provider, opened its doors on 27 Marina Drive on Saturday, June 9.

The store welcomed local people to come and take part in the celebrations.

The company mascot, Cashie the Cat, was there to entertain children and adults and children had the opportunity to have their faces painted and leave with a balloon.

The store is the 219th Cash Converters to open in the UK.

Recent research completed by Cash Converters found the majority of Ellesmere Port households are sitting on at least £380 worth of unwanted goods, so Cash Converters is urging people to take along items such as old cameras, iPods, mobile phones and TVs.

New store development manager Sean McTaggart said: “We are delighted to be opening our first shop in Ellesmere Port. It was great to meet the local residents and advise them on the range of services we can offer.

“Often people come into our stores surprised at what we will buy from them; we are keen to highlight how to make money from items you already own.”
