A CHESHIRE hotel has been named the Best Golf Resort/Hotel in the North of England for the second year running, voted for by golfers.

Carden Park, near Chester, has once again won the title in the Today’s Golfer Travel Awards.

Keen players from across the country voted online in their thousands to ensure their favourite golfing locations in the UK and abroad came out on top.

Last year’s inaugural awards, in association with major golf travel operator Your Golf Travel, saw Carden Park awarded for the first time in the same category.

Karen Proctor, golf business manager at Carden Park, said: “We are delighted to have won this prestigious award for the second year in a row.

“There was tough competition from other hotels and resorts in the North of England so we are very pleased Carden Park has once again come out on top.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who voted for us and we will continue to strive to be the best throughout 2013.”

Golfers have the chance to experience the award-winning facilities from £25 per person with a game of Winter Warmer golf including arrival tea, coffee and bacon roll plus an 18-hole game of golf.

Situated within a country estate, golfers at Carden Park have a wealth of facilities to enjoy, including the two championship courses – The Nicklaus Course and the Cheshire Course – and a driving range with 13 covered and eight uncovered bays.

Head professional Steve Priest and his Total Golf Performance team are based on site and can offer training to both beginners and experienced golfers.

Chris Jones, editor of Today’s Golfer, said: “The mile-long drive into this highly popular De Vere hotel immediately suggests you are somewhere special – and this classy hotel doesn’t disappoint. It sits amid 1,000 acres of rolling Cheshire countryside and has all you need for a good time on and off the course.”
