The man behind a Beeston-based fibreglass company landed a job working for the V&A in London.

Director of Fibreglass First Mike Merrall won a contract to produce work for the British furniture designer Faye Toogood.

As part of the brief he was asked to contribute to two installations –at the V&A museum and Somerset House - during London Design Festival last month.

For the museum, the firm was one of ten British artisans to re-create a coat – from Toogood’s collection – in non-traditional fashion materials including fibreglass, wood and metal.

The second installation at Somerset House entitled The Drawing Room used iconic furniture which the company handcraft for Toogood’s Roly Poly collection.

Mike said: “I was honoured to be invited by world renowned furniture designer Faye Toogood to make an exhibit for London’s V&A Museum.”
