Up against 64 other Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza hotels, the team, including general manager, Vince Garrington, were completely over-awed and delighted at winning.

The award was presented to the hotel at an Oscars- style awards ceremony for 480 guests held at the Crowne Plaza Glasgow..

The evening included a champagne reception, dinner, awards ceremony and dancing.

“I am delighted that we have won this award,” said Vince. “The hotel went through a number of changes last year with investments of over £1m.

“We now have a team that feels valued and are really proud to work for us and this shows in our employee survey. They are a fantastic group and I feel honoured to work with them.”

Responsible for selecting the winners of these awards, chief operating officer, Alexi Hakim, said: “The improvement of this hotel over the past year is excellent. Congratulations to them all.”
