MORE than 20 members of staff at Ellesmere Port care homes picked up awards at a regional ceremony.

The bash, arranged by charitable care provider CLS Care Services, last week celebrated the achievements of staff from 26 CLS Care Homes throughout Cheshire, Warrington and Wigan in the past 12 months.

Included in the honours list were more than 20 members of staff from the organisation’s Ellesmere Port homes, including Astbury Lodge and Whetstone Hey, both in Great Sutton.

A wide range of achievements were celebrated at the award ceremony at The Mere Golf Resort & Spa in Knutsford, including NVQs in health and social care, catering, cleaning building interiors, customer service, business administration and team leadership, as well as specialist qualifications in medication and provision of activities.

Robert Black, managing director of CLS Care Services, said: “The annual CLS awards ceremony is a great opportunity to recognise and celebrate the achievement of our staff in gaining these qualifications.

“It marks the commitment throughout the organisation to continuously improve people's skills and provide the high level of customer service CLS is so well known for.”
