TECHNOLOGY firm staff from Ellesmere Port who won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2011 will meet Her Majesty next month.

Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant for Cheshire, David Briggs MBE, presented the award at EA Technology’s headquarters in Capenhurst.

The Queen’s Awards are the UK’s highest industrial honours and it is the second time EA Technology have won in four years.

The 2011 Award is for continuous innovation of UltraTEV products over five years, backed by outstanding commercial performance. In 2007 EA won for the groundbreaking UltraTEV Detector™.

Since then EA Technology has doubled its staff to 200, doubled revenues and achieved sales in 86 countries, with worldwide orders up 345% in the last three years.

Owned by its staff, EA Technology has been listed by The Sunday Times as one of the UK’s 100 fastest growing private companies for international trade. It now has sales operations in the USA, China, the Middle East and Australia, plus 40 global distribution partners.

Group CEO Robert Davis said: “It is very gratifying to receive this honour, which recognises the absolute importance of innovation in industry.

“We see it as a stimulus to increase our pace of development and growth, by creating even more new products and services to make the international power industry more efficient.”

Representatives of the company will travel to Buckingham Palace to meet the Queen at a reception for award winners on July 14.
