APPRENTICE technician James Fitzgerald of James Edwards Land Rover in Chester has won the Land Rover Apprentice of the Year title out of 100 candidates from around the country.

The national award was presented to James at a national graduation ceremony.

Service manager at James Edwards Chester, Mick Love, said: “This is an outstanding achievement for James and the service department at Chester. We are all very proud of this fantastic accolade.”

James achieved extremely high standards of work in practical on-site testing and in his course work while attending the Land Rover Training College at Halewood, Merseyside.

He joined the company after leaving school and has since qualified as a technician.

Simon Caine, general manger said: “It’s great to reap the benefits of the young people we are training to become skilled tradespeople, but an even greater bonus for all when they are recognised as the best in the franchise nationally. This demonstrates our commitment to consistently developing our people and further demonstrates the technical expertise available to our customers at Chester.”
