TWO Chester practices are to join forces to create one of the largest independent firms of chartered accountants in the city.
Jeffcott’s Chartered Accountants, based at St John’s Court, is to become part of McLintocks Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors, based at Chester Business Park. Jeffcott’s principal, Alastair Jeffcott, will become a partner in McLintocks.
“This is exciting news for both McLintocks and Jeffcott’s and comes at a crucial time in our development,” said John McLintock, who founded the firm 26 years ago with partner Mike Caputo.
“Our business is going from strength to strength, despite the tough economic times, and we look forward to Alastair and his team being a part of that growth.”
In the past 12 months, McLintocks has merged with Blease Lloyd of Birkenhead, recruited new staff, including tax manager Jeanette Cosgrove, and now employs more than 50 people.
“This merger fits so well with both parties,” said Alastair Jeffcott, who is 47 and lives in Mold.
“We share the same business philosophy, value our clients and always try to bring the personal touch to our work. I’m looking forward to a great partnership.”
New tax manager, Jeanette Cosgrove, joins McLintocks from a well respected city centre firm where she has spent 20 years developing her specialist experience in personal tax.
