Students, staff and parents of Bishops’ Blue Coat Church of England High School celebrated Christmas in style with their annual Cathedral carol service.

The cathedral nave was full and the congregation was treated to the whole of the Great Boughton school’s Year 7 singing The Angels Knew.

The Year 7 assembly drama group also performed a sketch reflecting upon the first nativity.

The hand bell ringers

The event was enhanced by solos from Danielle Middleton (voice), Sean Barlow (piano) and Jane Allan (piano). A choir of staff and students sang Oh Holy Night.

Sixth form student Curtis Antram played the organ to support the orchestra and the handbell team leading everyone in traditional carols.

Students led the prayers and Wendy Swan, of The Agathos Trust, encouraged the school to reflect on the journey of the wise men.
