As a child, Sally Ellis dreamed of  becoming a fashion designer.

From as far back as she can remember, she would sketch designs in her bedroom day and night, but she would never have guessed that one day her dream would become a reality.

Since graduating from a fashion design course at Salford University in 2009, Sally, 28, has showcased her own designs up and down the UK and has even opened her own boutique, Sve,  in Tarporley.

Sve has a distinct monochrome colour palette and androgynous style  that makes the label stand out. It also includes a ready-to-wear and higher-end couture range, catering for day, evening and special occasions for all ages, as well as offering a luxurious tailor made to measure service.

Sally’s designs are elegant, intelligent and unassumingly simplistic. In her sleek and flattering cuts, she tries to celebrate the strength and power of women  and each new collection always centres on the colour black and infuses one vibrant colour to one show stopping piece.

“I’m living my dream and not many people can say that, so you can imagine how much I love my job and going to work every day,” says Sally.

“But that doesn't mean it's not hardwork and sometimes it is very hard - especially in today's climate and in the fashion industry.”

And Sally says it was a dream come true to appear in Sky Living’s show Styled To Rock where she was picked from thousands of applicants to star in popstar Rihanna’s latest TV show.

Each week the show saw designers competing to create the most suitable outfits for A-list celebrities, and Sally, who was even interviewed by Rihanna herself, managed to get down to the final 12.

“It was a great experience and I'm glad I got to meet Rihanna and also try my hand at something different in the fashion industry,” she explained.

“It taught me to stick to what I'm good at and that’s creating gorgeous pieces for women.”

And with Sve showing at London Fashion week for its fourth season,

Sally is aiming high in everything she does.

“My favourite quote is ‘Reach for the Stars’ and I feel like the stars are falling at my feet,” says Sally.

“Now my next goal is to have Sve boutique No 2 in London by 2014!”
