A typical day would start with some reading and quiet time to gain lots of inspiration to fire me up for the day.

Coaching is an action driven process, providing clarity and purpose for the client and enabling them to take control over every aspect of their lives with confidence and motivation.

I meet clients on a 121 basis so I travel across Cheshire or Greater Manchester to deliver coaching sessions. I love working face to face with my clients. You can feel the energy build in the room as the session develops. I also deliver coaching sessions via Skype or telephone for clients who live further afield or to fit with busy lifestyles. My clients vary from business owners, busy mums juggling careers and family life to people who just feel ‘stuck’ and are not sure where to start.

It is important to me that before and after the session I allow time to prepare and reflect to ensure that I can provide and create the right environment for my client to flourish. Depending on what areas we are working on, I help generate ideas and exercises to allow creativity to flow and to encourage exploration of new options and goals.

I am passionate about self development and I strive to continually improve and push myself to achieve my personal goals. I am currently studying for a Positive Psychology Practitioner Diploma so some of my time is spent reading articles and writing assignments relating to this fairly new branch of psychology.

To wind down from the day, I love to walk into Tarporley Village and grab a coffee in the Number 6 coffee shop or enjoy a glass of wine in the Swan Hotel. I am also the President of the local Women’s Institute so its great to catch up with members to plan activities and future events. I feel so fortunate to live in a wonderful village and I try and make the most of the amenities whenever I can.

My day usually ends with writing in my journal. This helps me to keep focused on the important things in life. I like to highlight three things every day that I am grateful for. Not every day may be a good day but good can be found in every day.

Do you wear a uniform or anything special to do your job?

To totally focus on my client, I need to feel comfortable. Although I do not wear specific clothes it is important to think about what colours I wear. Wearing green can evoke feelings of calm whilst yellow can encourage energy and excitement.

What is the favourite part of your job?

I love every aspect of my job. In fact, I enjoy it so much, I do not feel as if I am working at times. I really enjoy connecting with people and as a life coach, I specialise in empowering people to overcome obstacles. I encourage people to find the solutions so that they can create a life they love. I gain a lot of satisfaction when I witness people move forward in their lives and become more confident, content and committed to a life that they deserve and have always wanted.

What is the least favourite part of your job?

Keeping on top of my admin. I much prefer spending time with my clients.

What would be your dream job if you weren’t doing what you do now?

A travel photographer - getting paid to travel the world taking pictures would never feel like work to me.

How do you relax when you are not working?

I love to travel, both in the UK and all over the world. I have been fortunate enough to visit many countries. As part of that, I love to capture my travels through photography and my camera is never too far away from me.

What is your favourite film?

Good Will Hunting. It is such an inspiring film.

What is your favourite book?
