Girls from The Queen’s School will be walking 10Kto raise awareness of the UN International Day of the Girl.

The UK Charity Plan has invited girls from schools across the UK to come together in a World Wide Walk to raise awareness for the 66 million girls across the world who are denied access to an education.

A distance of 10K represents the journey that girls often make in developing countries to collect water for their family. This often stops them for attending school.

Girls from the Lower and Senior Schools will be joining in with the walk which will start from both schools and take in several laps of Chester Racecourse.

They will also be wearing ‘Because I am a Girl’ wristbands to raise awareness of the issue.
