Preparations are in hand for the switch-on of the trees of lights at Ellesmere Port hospital.
During a short informal ceremony on Monday, December 8, carols will be sung and there will be a quiet time for reflection and memories.
Following the service, tea and mince pies will be served in the hospital.
Lights can be lit in celebration and memory of a loved one or in celebration of an event, birth, special birthday or anniversary.
Forms are available at the hospital, by phoning 01244 366240 or people can donate online at www.justgiving.com/chestertreesoflife .
Lesley Woodhead, corporate and events fundraising manager said: “Christmas can be a difficult time for people who have lost loved ones and this service gave people a chance to be with others in a similar situation and to reflect.”
All names received by the end of November will be in the books of honour that are on display at the service and all year round at the hospital.
People can also visit www.coch.nhs.uk/fundraising for more information and to download an applications form.
The service was introduced in 2011.
