Internationally acclaimed singer/songwriter Sarah McQuaid will be welcomed back to Tilston Music Club next week.
Sarah will perform at the Carden Arms, Tilston, near Malpas on Wednesday April 22 for a rare Cheshire appearance and the only venue in the area included on her UK Spring Tour.
The Spanish-born singer has performed across the USA, Europe and the UK to rave reviews that have likened her voice to ‘malt whiskey, melted chocolate and honey poured into wine’.
Her new album Walking Into White (2015) is described as her most honest and adventurous work to date, with a 'depth and texture of soundscape reflected in her beautifully crafted live shows'.
Sarah, who grew up in Chicago and now lives in south west England, refuses to pigeon-hole her musical genre, and regularly moves from one of her emotive originals to a 1930s Cuban jazz number, a 16th century lute piece or an unexpected contemporary cover.
Her 2012 third solo album The Plum Tree and the Rose drew critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic, from stars including Aled Jones.
Music Club host Geoff Edwin-Scott said: “We are really privileged to see Sarah once again in Tilston – the last time she appeared here she packed the house and we expect it to be a sell out again.”
The performance starts at 8pm. Admission is £10 with tickets available in advance from Geoff on 01829 250484 or you can pay on the door.
Tilston Music Club meets for singers’ nights on the first Wednesday of every month at the popular Carden Arms. Musicians, singers and music fans are all welcome and entry is free.
